Abhinav Dhankar

I design the software that runs the messy part of a business.

Product designer, 14 years in design, 8 of them at Microsoft. I work on operational systems where the logic underneath matters more than the screen, and I build the prototype far enough that you can use it before anyone commits.

A command screen for a multi-brand cloud kitchen

One kitchen in Pune, three delivery brands, and 60 to 80 live orders at every rush, run on three tablets and a stack of paper chits. I designed the system that replaced it and built a working prototype.

About

I spent 8 years at Microsoft making product demos for enterprise software. The job was watching something complicated get explained badly, then finding the version of it that made sense in ninety seconds. Eventually the interesting part stopped being the explanation and became the product.

Now I design operational tools, the kind used by people who are already experts, where the job is giving them a clearer view rather than a simpler one. I care about the reasoning behind a decision as much as the screen it produces, and I am happiest when a messy problem resolves into a rule you can state in two lines.

I build as well as design. Everything here comes with a working prototype you can click through, and a short video walking through why it works the way it does.

Based in Delhi NCR. Open to product design roles.
